The Golden State Warriors are terrible. Yes, it’s early, and yes, the sample size is small (take for example the unstoppable Utah Jazz). It will, for the most part, stabilize. But this is not a championship hangover. This isn’t even a MD 20/20 hangover. This team, specifically its bench, has been a slow-burning dumpster fire. Coming from a team of this pedigree, this is an entirely appropriate time to panic.
It’s disheartening to watch, but it’s not as though we didn’t know it was coming. Maybe not this soon, but the transition from the Dynasty to Whatever’s Next has been in Joe Lacob’s prospectus for years.
